Located in the Shan district, Inle Lake is one of the top five tourist attractions in Myanmar. The lake is about 22km (13,5 miles) long and 11km (7 miles) wide. The best thing about it, are the fishermen. We paid about 20 000 kyat (+/- 20 euro) for a boat for 5 people. This will get you a boat and a guide for the entire day. But the guide is not necessary at all, everything is pretty straightforward, as long as you have a map and you show the ‘captain’ where to go. You’ll see fishermen, floating villages, floating gardens and tons of craft shops. But beware of fake silk scarfs or ‘silver’ bracelets. You’ll also stop at the Jumping Cat Monastery. Yes, this is a monastery where monks train cats to jump through hoops. But today, the cats don’t jump anymore and it’s nothing more than another place where the will try to sell you all kinds of junk.

Very cool photos. I especially like the photo of the fisherman balancing his “net” on his foot and hand. I’m headed to Myanmar in October/November of this year and can’t wait. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your nice comment! Very good choice, it’s really a must see, Bagan especially
